Hoarding Support

Woman with packing boxes

Compassionate, practical support without judgement

Hoarding can make everyday life extremely difficult.

Rooms may become difficult to use. Important items can become hard to find. Relationships can become strained. And the thought of asking someone for help can feel overwhelming.

Perhaps you’ve been living with the problem for years.

Perhaps someone you care about is struggling.

Or perhaps you’re simply reaching the point where you know something needs to change.

You don’t have to face it alone.

Life Organised provides practical, compassionate support for people affected by hoarding.

A different approach

Hoarding isn’t simply about having too much stuff.

Possessions can carry enormous emotional meaning, and decisions about what to keep or let go of can be difficult.

That’s why my approach is based on compassion, patience and respect.

I won’t judge you or make assumptions about why you’ve reached this point.

And I won’t expect you to simply throw everything away.

We’ll focus on what matters to you and work towards realistic, achievable improvements.

How I can help

Understanding where to start

When a home has become overwhelmed with possessions, knowing where to begin can feel impossible.

We’ll identify a starting point that feels manageable.

Creating safer, more usable spaces

We’ll work towards making important areas of your home easier and safer to use.

Sorting and decision-making

We’ll work through possessions at a pace that allows you to make your own decisions.

Developing practical systems

Where appropriate, we’ll look at ways of managing possessions and everyday routines that can help prevent things becoming overwhelming again.

Working at your pace

There is no magic deadline.

Progress may be gradual, and that’s okay.

What I won’t do

I won’t judge you.

I won’t shame you.

I won’t force you to make decisions you’re not ready to make.

I won’t promise a quick fix.

And I won’t treat your possessions as though they have no meaning.

My role is to provide practical support while respecting your autonomy and your circumstances.

What happens when we work together?

1. We talk

We’ll start by understanding what’s happening and what you would like to change.

2. We agree on priorities

Together, we’ll identify the areas where making a change would have the greatest benefit.

3. We take manageable steps

We’ll work through things gradually, focusing on achievable progress rather than trying to transform everything overnight.

4. We create practical solutions

We’ll look at how spaces can become more usable and how everyday life can become easier.

5. We keep moving forward

There may be setbacks. That’s part of the process.

The important thing is that you don’t have to do it alone.

You don’t need to be embarrassed

If you’ve been putting off asking for help because you’re worried about what someone will think, please know that you won’t be judged here.

You don’t need to tidy before getting in touch.

You don’t need to explain everything perfectly.

And you don’t need to know what you need.

We can start with a conversation.
