Who is the woman behind the blog?

Professional Organisers come in all shapes and sizes and so do bloggers. Some of us are old, some of us are black, and some of us are female.

Ever wondered what kind of person I am? Read on to find out. Below I will answer 15 questions about myself.

How Old Are you?

Never ask a woman her age!

Where do you live?

Planet Earth, although I have been tempted to migrate elsewhere in the universe on more than one occasion.

What’s your favourite food?

Croissants, eggs, tomatoes on the vine, mushrooms, tangerines and crisps (any flavour!)

How do you take your coffee?

With a dash of oat milk. No sugar, sweet enough already.

What did you do before becoming an organiser?

I worked in a variety of local and national museums. I also worked as a picture editor and photo librarian.

Do you get rich being an organiser?

I haven’t moved out of my two-bed ex-local authority flat and into a manor house yet!

Do you have any formal qualifications?

I have qualifications in photography and have completed the APDO training course.

Further, I have a BA in History, an MA in Women’s History and a Postgraduate Diploma in Museums Studies.

What’s your favourite book?

As an organiser, it must be The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying by Marie Kondo.

Do you listen to music while decluttering?

When I am working with clients, we usually don’t listen to music as it makes communication harder.

When scanning photos for clients at home, I often have classical music in the background.

Do you have a pet?

Not sure that counts as a pet, but I have a 41-year-old fluffy toy monkey called Mano, who I got as a birthday present while a kid.

Do you have perfectly ironed clothes?

I hate ironing, and I am a minimalist, so the iron and ironing board were the first things to be decluttered.

Do you ever procrastinate?

As a productivity nerd, the answer should be no but guess what? I am human, just like the rest of you. So yes.

Are you into politics?

I am very much into politics but I won’t give away my views. At Life Organised we work with anyone regardless of where they stand on Brexit, climate change, or Ukraine’s war.
