Save Your Photos Month

September is Save Your Photos Month — with free classes and useful tips for organizing and enjoying family memories.

Save Your Photos Month, now in its 9th year, is a global event dedicated to assisting families in organizing, preserving, sharing, and cherishing their photo and video memories. This year’s theme focuses on real people and real-life experiences of individuals saving and sharing their photos.

Throughout September, experts worldwide will share their knowledge through over 25 mini-classes, tutorials, and live discussions. These classes cover topics such as preserving your family history, managing photo privacy, discovering new apps to enhance your enjoyment of photo and video memories, insider tips on Apple Photos, and much more!

Cathi Nelson, the Founder and CEO of The Photo Managers, highlighted the importance of human connection and remembrance in our increasingly complex technological world. She acknowledged that many people feel overwhelmed by the vast number of photos they accumulate and expressed that this month-long event aims to simplify the process by offering expert advice in easily digestible information.

The Photo Managers is a leading educational community in the rapidly growing profession known as photo management.  Founded in 2009, The Photo Managers provides valuable resources, education, and support to its members and the broader community. This includes access to training programs, conferences, networking opportunities, and industry insights. The Photo Managers play a crucial role in promoting best practices, offering expertise in photo organization, preservation, and digitization, and helping individuals navigate the challenges of managing their photo collections in the digital age.

In a world where natural disasters such as fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, and the risk of outdated technology threaten to wipe away precious memories, Save Your Photos Month is a beacon of hope. This international event, throughout September, aims to educate individuals on safeguarding their cherished photos before disaster strikes.

Save Your Photos Month was created to address the growing number of situations where families lose their most valuable possessions—their irreplaceable photo and video memories. By providing education and resources, this event empowers people to take proactive steps in preserving their visual legacies.

The event’s primary goal is to ensure that families are well-equipped to face any unforeseen circumstances that could potentially jeopardize their photo collections. By offering comprehensive instruction, Save Your Photos Month empowers individuals to take control of their visual histories and protect them from the devastating effects of disasters.

Save Your Photos Month is not just about preservation; it is about celebrating the power of memories and the stories they tell. By saving and safeguarding these images, families can pass down their legacy to future generations, providing a sense of continuity and connection.

“Losing cherished family memories can be devastating.” said Jan Bishop, Owner of Deja Vu Photo Curating at Save Your Photos Month. “Our mission is to educate and empower people to protect their visual memories before it’s too late. By participating in this event, individuals will not only gain invaluable knowledge but also contribute to the preservation of their family legacies.”

To participate in Save Your Photos Month and access the wealth of educational resources, interested individuals can visit the official website at www.SaveYourPhotos.org. The event is open to everyone, regardless of their location or prior knowledge on the subject.

I am available to speak for local groups and provide some basic principles to small groups during the month as well as throughout the year.  Now is a great time to plan a project that can take you into the cold winter months.

Save Your Photos Month is an international event taking place annually throughout September. The event’s mission is to educate individuals on how to protect and preserve their photo and video memories before disasters strike, including hurricanes, tornadoes, fires, floods, and the obsolescence of outdated technology. By offering comprehensive classes and resources, Save Your Photos Month empowers individuals to safeguard their visual legacies for future generations.
