Margareta Magnusson, a Swedish author and artist, died last week on March 12, 2026, at age 93. She was known for her candid, humorous, and heartfelt reflections on ageing, life, and decluttering. In 1957, she married Lars Magnusson, with whom she had five children. 

When not raising her children, she worked as an artist and illustrator, holding her first solo exhibition in Gothenburg in 1979. 

Selling her art and moving often for her husband’s job taught her how to let go of possessions. She lived in the US, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
